Wednesday’s Champions League games were packed with goals and some big wins. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain both got off to a strong start, taking comfortable leads in their matches. Real Madrid were flying at the Santiago Bernabéu, beating Manchester City 3-0. Federico Valverde had an amazing game, netting a hat-trick in the first half. That pretty much guaranteed a tough time for Pep Guardiola’s team in the next match.
Madrid really made City pay for their defensive errors, and that helped them take charge of the match.
PSG also had a really good showing in Paris, beating Chelsea FC 5-2 at their home stadium, Parc des Princes. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was the star of the day, scoring two goals. Bradley Barcola and Vitinha also scored, adding to the Chelsea misery.

Chelsea tried to fight back a bit with Malo Gusto and Enzo Fernández, but PSG was just too good in the end.
Over in Norway, Bodø/Glimt kept up their strong European run, beating Sporting CP 3-0 quite easily. Sondre Fet and Ole Blomberg scored the goals that put the home team in a really strong position for the next game.
Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen tied 1-1 in an away game that was really important for Arsenal. The German club went ahead first with a goal from Robert Andrich. But then Kai Havertz scored a penalty kick against his old team, which saved the Gunners at the end.
After the first games, some teams are in a good spot as the fight to get into the Champions League quarter-finals keeps going next week.
