Governor of Rivers State, while speaking with some journalists in Abuja over the weekend, he appealed to aspirants vying for the leadership position of the National Assembly to respect the decisions of the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to him, They should look beyond him being an APC member and should focus on the plans he has for me and the country.
As Tinubu won’t function well in office, if the leadership of the National Assembly refuses to cooperate with him, and he also referred to a similar incident that happened in 2015. As the president needs to have a beautiful relationship with the Legislative arm.
He said: “During his campaign, he, Tinubu, promised to unite every Nigerian and bring competence.
“It’s not going to be because you are members of APC or not, we want Nigerians with the capacity to help people deliver what will make Nigeria great.
“No President can do very well if he does not have that leadership that is not ready to cooperate with him. If you remember what happened in 2015, that affected the performance of the present administration.
In a week, Nigeria’s leadership is about to change hands, as the President-elect will be inaugurated as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, taking over from President Muhammadu Buhari who has served Nigeria for eight years.
