Barcelona have seemingly landed Rodri in the race to secure the Manchester City star ahead of their bitter rivals.
Spanish international has been a long-term target for Real Madrid, but the deal seems to have stalled, paving the way for the Catalans to swoop in and steal the midfielder away from the Ballon d’Or Winner.
The Mirror reports that Real Madrid’s primary midfield transfer target, Rodri, has made up his mind to move to Barcelona this summer. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Rodri’s agent, Pablo Barquero, confirmed that Rodri had made his feelings known to the club: “Out of respect for Madrid, as they have been class, Rodri informed them that his decision is to join Barca.”

The agent went on to confirm personal terms are “all agreed with Barca”. Rodri reportedly met with Hansi Flick and Deco at the Nou Camp on Tuesday, who is a former Barcelona central midfielder. The 28-year-old apparently agreed to join Barcelona that day.
Madrid, meanwhile, have acquired the services of a whole range of new talent this summer in Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konat, Denzel Dumfries, Carlos Esp and Yan Diomande.
So losing Rodri this summer must be extremely disappointing for the Spanish giants, who will surely now look for other midfield targets to fill the void, prior to the start of a new La Liga season.
