World number one Aryna Sabalenka once again lifted the US Open trophy. After overcoming American Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 7-6(3), the 27-year-old Belarusian took her Grand Slam title tally to four.

The 27-year-old Belarusian who was very close to winning the Australian and French Open titles earlier this year, could not have been better on Ashe Stadium. She exuded a mix of calm and power, making sure this last chance for 2025 was not going to be her final one.

Sabalenka Keeps US Open Title after Straight-Sets Victory over Anisimova

Sabalenka took full advantage of Anisimova’s let-it-fly serving mentality and cashed in five breaks out of six opportunities. As well as the break that closed the match, she won the second set tiebreak by displaying iron nerve in it. Her 19th straight tiebreak win was thus confirmed by the triumph.

Dreams of a first Major title were shattered for Anisimova with this loss. She was only lately in the scene when she got hammered by Swiatek 6-0, 6-0 in the Wimbledon final just two months ago.

Although she had a 6–3 advantage in their head-to-head matches with Sabalenka, she missed many important break points in the game and later openly said that the roof and lights had disturbed her serve.

with her victory Sabalenka becomes the first female player to defend the US Open title from Serena Williams 2014, thus signaling the dominance of Sabalenka in women’s tennis.
