Liverpool Star, Mohamed Salah, has been named the Premier League Player of the Season for the 2024-25 season, obtaining the prestigious prize for the second time after he first won it in 2017-18.
Salah’s performance was one of the main topics of discussion during the season. He won the award because of his huge advantage in the vote. The striking Egyptian forward has been amazing this season gaining 28 goals and 18 assists, and on both counts, he was the Premier League leader. Undoubtedly, in a 38-game Premier League season, his 46 goal contributions were the highest ever.
Salah managed to win over teammates Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch in the final vote, thus breaking a streak of five years in which the players of Manchester City have been taking the awards.
His impressive displays not only helped Liverpool in their battle for another league title but also made him the frontrunner in Ballon d’Or talk. According to Arne Slot, the team’s manager, Salah is in the best form of his career.
The manager shared his views on Salah, saying, “He’s been good at Liverpool for some seasons, but as far as numbers are concerned, this one will be the best if we win the league, he will aim for the Ballon d’Or for sure.”
