On Thursday, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, approved the 2025 budget of N3.366 trillion, marking a significant step towards the state’s development goals. He signed the budget at the State House in Alausa, Ikeja, after the Lagos State House of Assembly passed it on January 6.
Sanwo-Olu had initially presented a budget plan of N3.005 trillion with the Assembly on November 21. After the lawmakers reviewed it, they raised the amount to N3.37 trillion. Called the “Budget of Sustainability,” it focuses on building infrastructure, diversifying the economy, and key social sectors aimed at improving the lives of Lagosians.
The governor reaffirmed his government’s promise to sound fiscal management and urged citizens to support and collaborate in ensuring the successful implementation of the budget for the greater good of the state.
