The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to publicly address the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN to effectively implement the Supreme Court decision mandating an end to the cash withdrawal limits and to additionally extend the validity period for the use of the old banknotes.
The statement SERAP had issued on Sunday, March 5, via its Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare had asked President Buhari to reveal the details of the measures his administration was presently taking to immediately and effectively obey the Supreme Court’s order directing the apex bank to keep receiving the old N200, N500, and N1,000 from Nigerians as legal tender.
