Former Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos is reportedly close to an incredible takeover of his former club Sevilla after a consortium led by the defender is believed to have reached a verbal agreement on the €444m deal.
Ramos is the main partner of the investment fund ‘Five Eleven’, who were in exclusive talks to buy the La Liga side since February. Spanish news agencies state that the two parties reached the deal after lengthy negotiations with the shareholders and examination of the Sevilla accounts.
It is thought the deal will be concluded at the end of May or the beginning of June, as the consortium is thought to have provided the necessary capital. Financial security was also thought to have been established during negotiations.

The financial situation of Sevilla has been the main point of the negotiation; the Spanish club has registered massive losses in recent years and currently sits three points above the relegation zone with three games left.
World Cup winner in 2010, Ramos began his career at Sevilla before moving to Real Madrid in 2005. The former Spanish international is seen by many as one of the greatest defenders of all-time after his spell at Real and stints at PSG and Mexican side Monterrey.
