It’s no news that the People’s Democratic Party is divided amongst itself, as the 2023 elections brought about in-fighting between party members
Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde has beckoned members of the party to embrace peace, within the party. In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olarewaju, in Ibadan on Sunday, the governor called on members to embrace peace.
According to him, he is aware that the elections had a major role to play in the division between party members, but however, the elections are over and the healing process begins.
He further admonished members of the party to embrace peace, as they’ll have to move forward regardless.
The governor said, “Well, I want to point out that we went through a gruelling election, and whether we want to admit it or not, we had issues amongst ourselves during the elections. But, you know what? The healing process has to start and it must start now.
He also reminded them, that the interest of the people should be their priority, regardless of who’s in the seat as president, as the government will come and go, but the people remain.
