Following the directive given to the interested presidential candidates of the Federal Executive Council by the president, Education Minister, Nwajiuba resigns.
The report shows that the Education Minister had long tendered his resignation since April 28. This happened before the order by the president to all Federal Executive Council members interested in the presidential seat to resign before Monday the 16th of May, 2022 to join the ongoing presidential race.
The president has ordered all of his elected ministers to quit his government to avoid any future reprimand from the APC group.
Recall that the implication of this development can stop an interested candidate from getting clearance from APC primaries. Following Article 3L of the party guidelines which proves that resignation is due to all political appointees interested in the seat at least 30 days to the primaries.
Paul Odili, the special assistant to Nwajiuba, has confirmed the development.
He stated that on the 27th of April,2022, After Nwajiuba accepted the nomination which was purchased by his support group, he went straight to President Buhari with his tendered letter of resignation which the president accepted.
