Nigerian singer Simi recently shared her views on relationships, stressing that both partners need to invest equally for a relationship to succeed. Speaking on the Zero Conditions Podcast, Simi emphasized the importance of compromise and mutual effort.
She highlighted that no amount of prayer, hard work, or therapy can make up for a one-sided relationship. Both parties must be involved for it to work.
Simi also pointed out that love requires mutual vulnerability, compromise, and sacrifice. It cannot be sustained by one person alone. She added that good communication is essential for maintaining a strong connection and resolving differences.
“I think there should be great communication; if you don’t have great communication, it won’t work, even if you love that person. Communication is hearing someone and hearing what they’re saying. And even if you disagree, you’re meeting it with love and compassion. Because you’re not always going to be on the same page, you’re going to disagree, and sometimes you can’t stand that person, but you love them enough to find your way back to the same page.” She added.
