It is no news that Yemi Alade is undeniably one of the brightest shining afro-pop stars on the planet! Not only does she produce catchy beats that gets us to our feet, she blesses our screen with her bright smile, glorious skin and her unbeatable fashion game.
That woman rains diamonds!
Days ago, the beautiful songstress shared her routine to glowing skin on her IG page with a step-by-step video which of course got everyone gushing about her flawless skin and, oh that smile! The tips are in the following order:
- Cleanse
- Exfoliate
- Tone
- 1 min break
- Serum
- SPF moisturizer

In the first few seconds of the video, she talked about the significance of eating fruits and drinking lots of water (hydration) to the skin.
Alafe started with cleansing, which is the first step on every skin routine. A common benefit of facial cleansing is the removal of dirt, oil, and other unwanted debris. Throughout the day, the skin on your face is continually covered with bacteria, pollutants, viruses, dirt, and old (dead) skin cells. Daily facial washing removes these impurities to give the skin a fresh look.
She went on to exfoliate after patting her face with a towel. Exfoliating is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin using a chemical, granular substance, or exfoliation tool. The next step on the list is the Toner. Toning helps clean, refresh and restore your skin. Toners help remove any remaining make-up debris and balance your skin’s pH.
After applying the toner, she took a minute’s break (to allow everything settle) and started grooving to her new song Ogogoro.
The songstress went on to apply the serum and the SPF moisturizer. Serums are divinely smooth thin oils which deliver a concentrated amount of active ingredients and locks in moisture. Face serum gives the collagen in your skin a boost, helping to keep it firm and plumping out fine lines and wrinkles.
Sunscreen (SPF) protects your skin and reduces your risk of developing skin cancer and skin pre-cancers. Applying SPF in conjunction with other sun protection behaviors – like wearing dark clothing and sunglasses – reduces the harmful effects of sun exposure.
The routine left her skin looking very smooth and glowy. She blessed the screen with her smile once more while showing the camera different angles of her face. Then…she sneezed!
What a way to end a lesson!
