The game between Sunderland and Arsenal in the Premier League ended with a sensational finish as the home team scored twice to the visitors’ two, with the Black Cats’ Brian Brobbey netting the equaliser with just a few seconds left on the clock. Arsenal had their aim to become more and more distant from the others, but the ex-boys’ academy leader Daniel Ballard powerfully shot from close range to give Sunderland the first goal and the clean sheet of the eight matches for the visitors was lost.

After half time, Arsenal got better and through Bukayo Saka they found their rhythm, who by being assisted by Mikel Merino timed his composed finish just perfectly to score the equaliser. Arsenal kept taking the initiative and soon it got them their goal when Leandro Trossard placed a brilliant shot into the upper corner. However, with the points apparently decided, Brobbey was the quickest to react and beat David Raya in injury time, grabbing a points draw of great importance that puts Sunderland in the third place. Arsenal on the other hand, extended their unbeaten streak against Sunderland to 16 matches but missed the opportunity of going nine points clear.

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea went up to the second position due to their strong 3-0 triumph over Wolves. Malo Gusto netted in his first-ever professional goal with a back-post header from Alejandro Garnacho’s cross, then just coming off the bench, Estevão set João Pedro up to getting the lead doubled. Pedro Neto then scored the third one on a counterattack, thus finishing the win off. That result is part of Chelsea’s fourth wins in their last five league games, and Wolves still haven’t won any games this season.
