Al Nassr has officially made Stefano Pioli the new head coach of the club. This follows the sacking of Luis Castro’s. Pioli, 58, has been unveiled as the new boss of Saudi Pro League side littered with superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane.
Pioli, who has been without a job since his exit after guiding them to second in Serie A last season, has now been named the new boss of German giants Bayern Munich. The Italian guided Milan to a decent domestic campaign as they finished 19 points behind rivals Inter.
Currently seventh in the Saudi Pro League with three matches played-one win and two draws-and a disappointing AFC Champions League draw against Shorta saw Al Nassr make the change, promptly recruiting Pioli to replace Castro.
Having begun his managerial career in 2003, Pioli has managed only in Italy, notably at Inter Milan, Fiorentina, and AC Milan. His crowning moment was the 2021/22 season when he lifted the Serie A title with Milan, thereby cementing his status as a club legend.
Pioli now begins his maiden coaching job out of Italy, tasked with bringing success to Al Nassr both domestically and on the international stage.
