Eric Chelle has named his Super Eagles side for Nigeria’s AFCON 2027 qualifiers, with Victor Osimhen among the invited players despite recent exclusion by his club Galatasaray.
Nigeria will host Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau in their first two qualifiers before they travel to face Russia in an international friendly. Osimhen will feature despite the three-week injury lay-off he suffered recently and will add firepower for Eric Chelle’s team who have a good chance to pick up maximum points.
Chelsea goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye and Arthur Okonkwo have all been called up, creating stiff competition between the trio.
The defensive positions have Olarenwaju Kayode, Olaoluwa Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Olaoluwa Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Bruno Onyemaechi in the fold with Alexander Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka also in the team.

Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Akor Adams, Tolu Arokodare and others feature too, while two new players George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor await calls.
Also Kelechi Iheanacho’s name was not seen in the squad but he has been listed in another squad for the match with Russia which will be used to test the team ahead of 2027. Chele will be hoping the Super Eagles record victory in their opening two games of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
