The Supreme Court had on Friday, September 15, refused to revoke the election of Peter Mbah as the Enugu State governor.
The Supreme Court had dismissed the appeal filed by Uche Nnaji, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a harmonious decision by a five-member panel of Judges, the apex court decided that Nnaji and his party filed for a weak brief of argument, which made their appeal inept.
The Supreme Court had also highlighted that Nnaji had failed to explain why the weak process he filed should be relied upon, in order to repeal Mbah’s victory at the polls.
Recall that the Court of Appeal in Enugu had dismissed Nnaji’s case against Mbah back in July.
Nnaji had been challenging Governor Mbah’s election victory, claiming that majority of the illegal votes cast had not really elected him.
