An eyewitness account had confirmed that the Ogun State Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, and National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, had altogether, saved the situation from degenerating.

A resident, Oluwatosin Ariyanja, added that the incident caused a commotion in the area as residents had been trying to use fire extinguishers but the fire had been massive.

Another resident likened the unfortunate incident to the dilapidated nature of the road had said that this may have prolonged rescue operations. “

However, the Coordinator, Lagos Territorial District, NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye, who had immediately dispatched emergency responders to the scene, said the incident did not record any casualty.  In his assessment, he had this to say, “A tanker laden with about 45,000 liters of PMS crashed, spilled its content, and exploded this morning at Olambe Matogun Road, Ifo LGA, Ogun State.
