In a rather unexpected and dramatic turn of events, one of the contestants who was recently kicked out of Big Brother Naija House, Toyosi, has recently come out to state that she no longer wants to share her house with her partner, Damilola. In a post-eviction interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Toyosi explained her decision to leave, mentioning the increasing conflict between them.
Responding to Ebuka’s question asking if they would continue sharing the same house, Damilola eagerly agreed but Toyosi had a rather complex perception of the situation. She told Damilola that she loved her but had an issue because the latter had been wallowing in self-pity, blaming herself for their eviction, and that it was causing the two pain. Toyosi told them that they accept that they require time away from one another since their feelings are often clouded with guilt, which is inconducive for a friendship.
Damilola, surprised with Toyosi’s response laced her speech with discomfort while Ebuka urged them to express how they felt. He stressed on the issue of communication especially because they have been friends for 7 years and that a week at the Big Brother house should be able to reduce rather than worsen the friendship.
This feeling came to a climax as both Toyosi and Damilola shed tears – a clear indicator that both characters had developed a bond and were equally sensitive to the other’s feelings. They agreed that frank communication, regardless of the difficult situations that they would face would be important in ensuring that their friendship remained intact.
