Reports have come in over an invasion by alleged terrorists on two villages, Bare and Kojiyo during the wee hours of Wednesday Night. The members of the villages, which are located in the Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto state are said to have awakened to the sound of the invaders making away with their herds of cattle.
In addition, they also broke into kiosks and shops and spirited away the goods of the trader. Tragically, nine villagers were gunned down with an additional five abducted before the night of terror was over. According to an eyewitness who wished to remain anonymous the gunmen ransacked the shops with little care and even set them on fire when they were done. The bodies of the deceased were later buried according to traditional Islamic rites.
As of the time of writing the state police command decried any knowledge of the incident but promised that they would immediately launch an investigation into the matter.
