The National Vice Chairman, South-South of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Osi Orbih, claimed that he had given the state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, $300,000 to give to Orbih as part of some political settlement involving the state chapter of the party. The deputy governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu has denied this claim.
Shaibu demanded that the insinuations be ignored in a statement, claiming that the accusation was completely untrue.
He state that It has come to his notice that the National Vice Chairman, South-South of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Osi Orbih, has made a false allegation purporting that he had given the governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the sum of $300,000 to hand over to Orbih as par a political settlement regarding the Edo State chapter of the PDP.
Shaibu refuted the assertion and, as a result, denounced the rumor in its entirety. She also urged that the insinuations be ignored because they lack any supporting evidence.
