Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has shared why he is persisting with his solo campaign to secure justice for the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Speaking with Sunday Scoop, Fabiyi revealed that recent developments in the case prompted him to maintain the protest.
He explained that a video recording and chat messages that emerged in December 2024 have provided new clues, which could potentially clarify the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely death.
Fabiyi, however, raised concerns about the way the Lagos State Police Command has handled this evidence. He alleged that certain key suspects appear to be shielded from proper investigation by individuals claiming connections with top officials, which he believes is obstructing the pursuit of justice.
He called on the Federal Government and the police headquarters to step in and ensure that the case is thoroughly investigated, stressing that the aim is to secure justice for Mohbad and the wider public.
The actor was clear that his efforts are not motivated by personal or financial gain. Through his NGO, he has carried the campaign forward with minimal support, driven purely by the need to see accountability for Mohbad’s death. “This is not about money. Our NGO is working on behalf of Mohbad’s family, friends, and the public to make sure justice is done,” Fabiyi stated.
He added that his persistence reflects a commitment to holding those responsible for the singer’s passing properly accountable.
