In a red carpet event, celebrities are going to be dressed to the nines in an attempt to impress. For this year’s Brits Awards which held on Saturday, March 2 at the O2 Arena in London, some entertainment stars did not fail their loyal fans, others, however did not understand the assignment.
Wondering what this Brits Award( BRITs) is all about? Don’t fret. This annual award ceremony is the British Phonographic Industry’s organised music awards that is very popular. This award show was first held in 1977 and began as a yearly event in 1982 under the umbrella of the British record industry’s trade association, the BPI which was later renamed The BRIT Awards in 1989
For an event that is considered to be Britain’s version of the Grammys (a.k.a music awards, but for the British), a good number of our beloved British artistes failed ‘to eat and leave no crumbs’ at the red carpet. A lot of these stars love taking risks at the red carpet, unfortunately, not all their risks pays off as it comes across looking tacky, poorly thought out and all over the place. Wasting no time, I bring to you, the fashion fails seen at the Brits Award 2024 red carper on Saturday in no particular order:
Abbey Clancy:
The model and TV personality had a lot going on with this Jaguar Skin bell bottom catsuit and Roar bag both from the Roberto Cavalli Resort 2024 collection. Though reminiscent of the early 2000s animal print style, this fit would have been better left in her closet —to marinate until its comeback. Plus, did I already mention that the whole animal print look was just too much for a red carpet outing.
Tallia Storm:
This Glasgow-born singer had donned a jacket printed with the Union Jack, which in my opinion, is very tacky. She completed the whole look with an unbuttoned collared shirt, see-through tights, and chunky platform black heels. A look more suitable for a costume-themed bachelorette outing than the red carpet.
Charli XCX:
As a Charli XCX fan, I am not pleased about the fact that she is on this list. The singer opted for a Marni pink and green structured gown with a bodice and a floor-length train, tying up the confused look. To me, the whole outfit looked undone and not well planned. This gown made of silk, chiffon and lace was designed by the label’s creative director, Francesco Risso who could have honestly done so much better.
Rob Beckett:
This one is a no brainer. The popular comedian took great lengths to make sure he was hard to miss as he chose to sport an inflatable giraffe costume.
The get-up which consisted of a yellow and black inflatable material featured boggling eyeballs and brown hooves, with just his hands, arms and face visible. Beckett can be argued to be going for something hilarious but isn’t the red carpet for serious business only?
Lmao at Mr Rob Beckett’s inflatable costume outfit. He should have tried and put in some effort
Truthfully. These are the best of the best celebrities in Britain. They could have at least put in the effort. Didn’t they watch the Grammys??
Nothing more disappointing than celebrities failing at dressing properly smh
Oh well….. E for their confidence while wearing rubbish ????♀️
