Nigerian rapper and social commentator, Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, has openly criticised President Bola Tinubu for what he described as a failure to effectively address the worsening security situation in the country.
The artist made the remarks in reaction to Tinubu’s message on X on Monday, following the mass killing in Benue State.
According to Falz, the President has repeatedly failed in his responsibility to protect Nigerians.
“You have consistently shown that you are incapable of performing the primary duty of securing lives and property of your citizens. This routine statement does not cut it,” he wrote.
Falz went on to express frustration that the large-scale violence in Benue had not sparked the level of national attention it deserved.
“Over 200 senselessly slain and burnt alive in Benue and this is not even getting close to enough attention. Why are we so wicked to ourselves?” he asked in a follow-up post.
Known for his vocal stance on social issues, Falz’s comments reflect a broader concern among citizens over the government’s handling of security and accountability in the face of continued bloodshed.
