President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim as the Minister of Youth, until her confirmation by the Senate House.
President Tinubu had also nominated Mr. Ayodele Olawande to be the Minister of State for Youth, until his Senate House confirmation.
These appointments were announced in a statement issued on Sunday, September 17 by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
The statement read:
“Ibrahim is a youthful medical doctor who recently served as the President of the Progressive Young Women Forum–PYWF. She has served as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals–SDGs.”
“On the other hand Olawande is a community development expert and is presently a youth leader in the leading All Progressives’ Congress–APC party.
“He very recently served in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation from 2019 until 2023”.
The statement additionally revealed that President Tinubu’s had directed the nominees to ensure that they consistently uphold “the dynamism, innovative passion and unyielding productivity synonymous with the Nigerian youths as they carry out their duties.”
