After conducting a meeting with Service Chiefs on Thursday, at the state house, the President is holding another meeting with APC governors. The governors were led by the Chairman of the APC Governors Forum, Hope Uzodinma. The governors of Ondo State and Kebbi State were absent from the meeting.
This will be the president’s first meeting with his party’s governors since he was inaugurated on Monday. There have been several reports that the president will announce his cabinet within the first 60 days of office.
The purpose of the meeting might be to discuss the fuel issue in the country, as prices of fuel have gone up since he announced fuel subsidy removal on Monday, and from the way it is, the National Labour Congress might be heading towards a strike action, seeing that increase in fuel price may cause hardship for workers.
They might also discuss the selection of the leaders for the National Assembly, which also is causing much controversy, and the appointment of his cabinet members.
