Our President thinks he deserves a spot in the Guinness World Records. Yep, you heard that right! Mr. Tinubu believes his previous achievements paved his way to the presidency and merit worldwide recognition.
“I governed Lagos for eight consecutive years and, today, I can brag, beat my chest that Lagos is on the horizon; it’s the fifth-largest economy in Africa from zero,”
Tinubu said.
“That is a track record that I can use to assure you and that is the track record that got me into this office as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
At a recent business forum, he proudly spoke of overcoming hurdles in the investment scene, boasting about his corporate background and his stint as Lagos governor. But hold up, while he celebrates past glories, the present reality for Nigerians isn’t so rosy.
He brags about transforming Lagos into a big deal, but the truth is, things aren’t as shiny as he claims. The suffering in Nigeria has doubled since he took office. Basic necessities have skyrocketed in price, leaving the common folk struggling to put food on the table.
Yet, amidst this, our President wants a pat on the back for his accomplishments. He jokes about getting into the Guinness Book of Records if they overlook him, all while the people face a grim and heartbreaking reality of hardship.
The situation in Nigeria is dire, and the people are beyond fed up with empty boasts. It’s time to address the stark struggles Nigerians face every day instead of celebrating past achievements that seem to have little impact on the present.
