Nigerian music powerhouse Tiwa Savage has shared a rare and deeply personal reflection on her struggles with trust, personal boundaries, and friendships, offering fans a glimpse into a more vulnerable side of her life.
Speaking during an interview with content creator Korty, the award-winning singer admitted that her naturally open nature has often put her at a disadvantage.
“I trust people easily. I am very trusting in my home; I am very open. I am an open book,” Tiwa said.
She explained that this openness extends even to her most private spaces, noting that she rarely turns away people she considers friends.

“I could be in my hotel, and if you are my friend and you want to stay over, you are welcome. That is how open I am,” she added.
However, Tiwa acknowledged that such unrestricted trust has come with painful lessons, forcing her to reassess how she relates to people around her.
“I am too trusting, maybe. I am learning about boundaries. Once you start setting boundaries, you lose people,” she revealed.
The singer stressed that learning to set limits has become even more crucial now that she is a mother, as her priorities have shifted toward protecting her child.
“I am learning how important it is to set boundaries for the safety of my son as well,” she stated.
Tiwa also disclosed that she has spent most of her life constantly surrounded by people and only recently experienced true solitude. According to her, she took her first-ever solo vacation earlier this year.
“I have never really been by myself anywhere in my life. The first time I went on vacation by myself was this year. I went to the Maldives alone—no team,” she shared.
Touching on friendships, the singer admitted that her career and lifestyle have taken a toll on her personal relationships.
“I have lost many friends. Maybe I have missed weddings,” she said.
Still, Tiwa noted that while her circle is now small, it is built on loyalty and history.
“I don’t have many friends, but the ones I do have, I have been friends with for over twenty years.”
