The Kogi State government has confirmed a devastating boat accident that occurred recently, leading to the loss of many lives. In a statement on Saturday, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, provided updates on the incident and the government’s response.

The tragic accident happened as a boat carrying passengers from Kupa Ebe to Katcha Market capsized near Kpata Danbo. While 14 people were initially rescued, ongoing efforts have brought the total number of survivors to 24, with many receiving medical attention in nearby health facilities.
