The summer transfer window continues to deliver twists as premier league clubs race to complete deals before deadline day. the biggest story of august 20 centers on arsenal, who are now leading the chase for crystal palace star eberechi eze. according to david ornstein, the gunners have turned to the england international following kai havertz’s knee injury and are close to sealing a deal.

Tottenham, long favorites for Eze, may look to include Richarlison in negotiations with palace to keep their hopes alive. reports also suggest spurs could pivot to Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, a forward also wanted by Newcastle.

Elsewhere, Villarreal have struck a club-record €29.5m agreement with Chelsea for midfielder Renato Veiga, while Fabrizio Romano reports that Galatasaray and Manchester city have agreed terms for defender Manuel Akanji, pending the player’s approval.

Bayer Leverkusen striker victor Boniface has reached a verbal agreement with AC Milan, according to Florian Plettenberg. Newcastle, meanwhile, continue their pursuit of a striker, tabling a £35m offer for Brentford’s Wissa.

Confirmed deals include AS Roma securing Leon bailey on loan from Aston villa, making him the club’s first Jamaican player, and Paris fc announcing the permanent signing of Germany goalkeeper Kevin Trapp from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Other notable moves include Nottingham forest striking a loan agreement with Juventus for Douglas Luiz, while Bayern Munich have agreed to sell 19-year-old prospect Paul Wanner to PSV for €15m.

With more developments expected in the coming days, the transfer window shows no sign of slowing.
