Arsenal defeated Leicester City 4-2 at the Emirates in dramatic style as Leandro Trossard sealed it in the 94th minute, with the Gunners extending their unbeaten home run against promoted sides to 40 matches.

The early moments of the first half saw Arsenal in dominance, with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli testing Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen. Reward finally came in the 20th minute when Martinelli tucked a cross from Jurrien Timber into the bottom corner for his first goal this season. Just before halftime, the hosts doubled their advantage as Trossard guided Martinelli’s cut-back into the far corner.

Leicesters responded in the second half within a minute through James Justin nodding in Facundo Buonanotte’s freekick. Arsenal tried to reinstate their two-goal lead, but Hermansen was in unstoppable mode, repelling one from Gabriel and then another from Trossard.

The visitors then sent a bolt from the blue as Justin lashed an incredible volley from Wilfred Ndidi’s cross to draw them level in the 63rd minute.

Determined to get a winner, Arsenal piled on the pressure in the final minutes, but Hermansen continued his heroic display with crucial saves. Finally, in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Trossard’s back-post effort was deflected into the net, handing Arsenal a dramatic late lead.

Kai Havertz’s close-range finish in added time secured a victory that sees Arsenal leapfrog into a share with Manchester City atop the Premier League, as Leicester’s brave attempt at a comeback means their search for an away point goes on.
