I love to smell nice, everybody does. Perfumes are a needed product in our day-to-day lives, just like our bathing soaps and body creams. A good perfume has the power to add sophistication and exude class as well as personality to your overall style. But what happens when your most loved signature scent gets a little bit (or a lot) pricey for you.

If you’re a Nigerian living in Nigeria presently, you don’t need a memo or a news jingle to sound the alarm that things have literally gotten out of hand in the country. The average citizen budgets, cuts costs where they deem necessary and pinches their coins (in this case the Naira) every single day but it still doesn’t seem enough because inflation is at an all time high– the likes of which our forefathers have never experienced before. To this effect, purchasing a good fragrance can seem daunting, even frivolous to some people this period but you need not worry about that.

This article is here to help you find the perfect fragrance for your style without you having to rob a bank in this perilous times. This means that the perfumes listed here will be under 10,000 Naira. The best part about this list is that these fragrances are not only affordable, they’re fairly-lasting too.

A 100ml of this perfume bottle presently retails from 9,200 Naira to 13,500 Naira on Jumia, depending on the seller. It is admittedly, a little bit on the pricey end if you’re on a strict budget. However, if you can afford it, go for it. Your colleagues at work and your significant other will praise you for it.

Red Diamond Perfume For Ladies:

This fragrance retails for 4,000 to 6,000 Naira on Jumia. It has been touted by perfume lovers long lasting and worth its price. A quick check on Google reveals that it has a floral scent and comes in a cute box, perfect for gifting your wife, mom, sister or female colleague.

Incidence Perfume for Women:

This fragrance is a self-acclaimed floral, fruity signature scent of a sensual and daring woman. On Jumia, it retails for between 6,500 to 9,500 Naira. Reviews from the site show that this is a favourite scent among younger women and it lasts long too.

Cybele Seduction Perfume:

Cybele seduction perfume

Probably the most cheapest on this list, Cybele’s Seduction sells for between 2,500 to 5,000 Naira on Jumia and Konga. This scent is perfect for both men and women. It is equally ideal for students who want to smell good at low cost.

Smart Collection Perfumes:

This fragrance has a nice and sweet-smelling scent. It is also long-lasting and coming in an amazing glass bottle design. Now understand that Smart Collection has a variety of fragrances and the price depends on the exact collection your going for. It can be a unisex perfume but it has a men only and female only collection.

Smart Collection perfumes can range from 3,500 to 7,000 Naira depending on the scent you’re going for.

Mousuf Wardi Perfume:

Recommended for its sweet-smelling fragrance and elegant package design, the Mousuf Wardi is loved for its oriental mixed scent. I for one, am giddy that this perfume is also on the cheaper side. It currently retails for 6,000 Naira on Jumia.

Now that I’ve highlighted that smelling divine doesn’t have to cost a fortune, do keep in mind that smelling good, is good business.

Pro-tip: If you want your fragrances to last a little bit longer, spray them on your key body areas a.k.a pulse points: inside your wrists, inner elbow, under your bellybutton/navel, behind your ear lobes and the back of your neck.
