Two Dead in Ogun State Accident

The Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC), has revealed that two persons were killed in an ugly road accident that occurred on the Ikorodu-Ogijo Sagamu expressway.

The Public Education Officer, Ogun Sector Command, Florence Okpe, had confirmed the incident early Saturday morning.

According to Okpe, the accident involved a Silver Toyota Camry with registration number EPE602JD and Yellow Mercedes Benz Truck with registration number AA938YE and the crash happened around 5:30 pm on Friday.

As for the cause of the crash, Okpe blamed over-speeding and loss of control for the accident which led to the collision of the two vehicles.

The Sector Commander, CC Anthony Uga, has meanwhile, expressed sympathy, commiserating with the family of the crash victims and advised motorists to avoid speed and pay full attention when they were on the road, driving.

In concluding his statement, Uga clamoured for truck drivers to install speed limiting devices on their vehicles as a sort or deterrent for over-speeding.

Okpe was quoted to have said;
“Three male adults were involved in the crash, two out of the persons involved were killed, while the third passenger was unhurt.

“The corpses were handed over to the families of the deceased,” she further added.
