The fitness of Kylian Mbappe ahead of the UEFA Champions League second leg trip to Madrid has been a major concern for the coaches at Paris Saint Germain after the French forward suffered a knock on Monday evening.
A training ground video footage of the young striker rolling on the floor in pains after a tackle from his fellow teammate Idrissa Gueye surfaced on the internet and sparked the claims that Mbappe might not recover in time to face Real Madrid.
With the return leg set to kick off in less that 48hours, the French giant are working tirelessly to assess Mbappé’s situation before they take off. Recall that Mbappe’s last minute winner gave PSG a much deserved win against Real Madrid at the Parc des Princes last month.
Real Madrid will be aiming to overturn the 1-0 deficit when the Spanish capital club play host to PSG in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
According to reports from the French club capital, Mbappe is expected to undergo medical exams to determine his fitness. The presence of the 23-year-old would be greatly needed if PSG are to take anything away from this clash.
The current deal of the French forward at PSG runs out in June, and he’s expected to leave in the summer on a free transfer to Real Madrid but the French giant have been working to negotiate a new mouthwatering deal.
Reports in Le Parisien had it that PSG are even trying to sign Kylian Mbappe all over again and pay him 50 million euros per year in wages to tie him down for few more years.
