Serbia has been penalised with partial stadium closures for two home matches and is now banned from selling tickets to their fans in two away ties. This punishment is over the country’s supporter behaviour in November’s Nations League games against Switzerland and Denmark, UEFA said.
According to a statement released by UEFA’s disciplinary body on Wednesday, Serbian fans had displayed “racist and discriminatory” behaviour, damaged the stadium, thrown objects and lit fireworks during a 1-1 draw with Switzerland in Zurich on November 15.
The statement also added that similar offences three days later in a goalless home draw with Denmark had also led to a one-match partial stadium closure and the activation of a suspended one-match partial closure sentence from October.
