According to the Ugandan police spokesperson, at least 25 individuals have died in the aftermath of a terrorist attack on a school located in western Uganda.
The attack had reportedly, been perpetrated by the Allied Democratic Group, ADP, an armed group with ties to the Islamic State.
The affected institution, Lhubirira secondary school is situated only two kilometres from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) border.
According to the statement released by the Ugandan police officials on Saturday, June 17, the attack had occurred on Friday night. A food store in the school had been looted and a dormitory had been burnt by the terrorists during the attack.
Police officials have meanwhile revealed that they are presently hot on the tails of the rebels who bolted towards the Virunga national park in Congo.
With enough luck, the criminals would be found out and made to face justice.
At the time of filing this report, it is unclear how many of the deceased had been pupils of the school.
