UK’s foreign office has taken swift action by sending a rapid deployment team to the island to provide support to British nationals in response to the ongoing fires in Rhodes. The team consists of five ministry staff and four British Red Cross responders, as confirmed by a government spokesperson on Sunday.
The situation is being closely monitored, and the UK authorities are in constant communication with the local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of British citizens in the area. The Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) has also stationed the Rapid Deployment Team (RDT) at Rhodes International Airport, where they will be dedicated to assisting and ensuring the safety of British Nationals on the island, making their well-being a top priority.
