Two yet-to-identified youths have been shot dead in what has been reported to be a cult killing at the University of Benin, UNIBEN, in Edo State.
According to anonymous eyewitness reports, the incident had occurred at about 5 p.m. on Friday, October 27.
A source had revealed that three gunshots had been heard on Friday in several locations at the Ugbowo campus.
“Three students were shot at, one died not long after while the other is in critical condition after suffering gun injuries and the last person remains at large.”
As at the time of filing this report, the UNIBEN authorities have yet to officially comment on the incident.
The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer SP Chidi Nwabuzor had revealed that the police authorities in the locality had yet to be briefed on the incident.”
Channels Television had revealed during a visit to the Ugbowo campus, that vehicular movement had been restricted in the area.
