England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland have come together to present an uncontested joint bid to host the 2035 Women’s World Cup. They are proposing 22 stadiums across the four nations. matches will be played in 16 stadiums in England, among them will be Old Trafford, which will be renovated, and a newly built Birmingham City ground, while the remaining six stadiums are in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Windsor Park, which was initially planned for Euro 2028 but was later removed, is also considered a candidate venue. If FIFA gives the approval, the final is expected to be played at Wembley Stadium. Besides that, Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium, a Euro 2028 venue, has also been listed.
In a joint statement, the CEOs of the four football associations said that hosting the tournament would be a ‘turbo charger’ for women’s and girls’ football both in the UK and globally, and that the bid represents a pledge to create long-term benefits for the development of football well beyond 2035.
England, the current consecutive European champions, were the finalists at the 2023 Women’s World Cup. The tournament will have 48 teams from 203,1 and the UK’s joint bid is designed to provide top-notch infrastructure and also to make use of the rising trend of women’s football.
