Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has put an end to her dispute with the content creator who spread false information claiming she is HIV positive.
Earlier in July, the actress had vowed to hold him accountable, questioning the trend among content creators and bloggers to share unverified stories.
She revealed that the rumors had reached her family and friends, causing distress.
In an Instagram video on Monday, Amusa admitted that she initially reported the young man to the police but later reconsidered after learning more about his personal situation.
“I am making this video regarding the peddling issue about myself and a content creator who defamed my character and put out wrong information about my HIV status, which has gone viral and has had people have different opinions about me. I did promise to make him a scapegoat, which I did, but I realise he just lost his mum, he is a 27-year-old boy, and I got to meet his relatives – his uncle, the lawyer,” she said.
She concluded her post by emphasizing the importance of forgiveness and human imperfection.
Captioning the post, she wrote, “CASE CLOSED. To err is human, to forgive is divine. Making mistakes is a natural and inherent part of being human, they say. LET’S BE GUIDED.”
