Nollywood actress and media entrepreneur Mary Njoku has called on Nigerian youths to reassess their priorities, expressing concern over what she described as the growing obsession with social media drama and distractions.
In a message shared on her Instagram page, Njoku reflected on the ongoing online clash between social media personalities VeryDarkMan and King Mitchy, using the moment to question whether young people are focusing enough on issues that truly shape their lives and future.
She lamented the volume of online noise and trivial content dominating conversations, urging youths to be more intentional with how they invest their time and attention.

“Does our generation truly have the capacity to focus on what’s important for their lives and their future? Or have we collectively chosen distraction over direction?” she wrote.
“I came online briefly and was honestly shocked at the level of noise and trivialities competing for attention.
“Ask yourself. Are you intentionally focusing on what truly matters in your life?
“Or are you simply cruising through distractions that add nothing to your future? Just asking?”
Njoku’s remarks have since sparked conversations online, with many users agreeing that the growing fixation on social media controversies often overshadows more meaningful pursuits and long-term personal development.
