Famous activist and social media personality, Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate, confirmed Otse’s release in a social media post on Wednesday, thanking all those involved in securing his freedom.
Sowore wrote, “Thanks to unrelenting efforts of all @thatverydarkman has been released from unjust detention at the @officialEFCC! He is with his ebullient lawyer, @adeyanjudeji. #RevolutionNow.”
Earlier, the EFCC had announced that Otse, who had been in detention, was granted bail on Tuesday, May 6, but would remain in custody until the conditions of his release were fulfilled.
The commission had previously stated that the activist was detained after failing to respond to several invitations concerning multiple allegations of financial misconduct.
