Victor Osimhen has admitted he does not know what his future holds amid speculation surrounding a possible summer move to Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain.
The deal was a long-term Chelsea target after he joined Galatasaray from Napoli on a season-long loan last summer. But his deal does not have an option for a permanent transfer, meaning the future is wide open.
After Osimhen was asked whether he had played his last Istanbul derby for Galatasaray after the goalless derby against Fenerbahce, Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk hinted that they might still have the chance to sign him in the winter. “Honestly, I don’t know,” he said to Hasan Tankaya. “A couple of months ago, nobody expected me to come to Galatasaray. I take it day by day, and I do really love this club.
Having no future at Napoli, and in spite of a contract until 2026, Osimhen is set to be sold this summer His release clause is due to fall from north of £100m to under £70m, placing him firmly on the radar of top European clubs.
Napoli director Giovanni Manna said: “Osimhen is an appetising player for clubs, we are working to find a solution as soon as possible to avoid the uncertainty that there was last summer.
