Randy Waldrum expects a serious fight against Atlas Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in Monday’s WAFCON 22 semifinals. The fight is scheduled to take place at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.
The Atlas Atlas Lionesses have done really well since the start of WAFCON 22, as has Team Bayana Bayana of South Africa, going unbeaten since the start of the tournament
And Waldrum has expressed his concern that he thinks his team really needs to be prepared as the Moroccan side can cause a surprise. Super Falcons know they have a serious fight they need to win if they want to reach the finals and the Moroccan team is also poised to snatch the title from the Super Falcons
“I saw them for the first time in September and was very impressed with the quality of their team and the football they play,” Waldrum told the CAF website.
“When I arrived in Morocco I said that they are the team that can surprise. I know how this team has developed over the past three years.
“They are one of the best teams in the competition and can beat any other team. We have respect for Morocco and the way they played in this tournament.”
“This is a big challenge for us. Sure, we have a lot of experience and many see us as favorites, but anything is possible in football and we have to be ready for this game.”
In other words, we’re going to watch a very serious game on Monday
