Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry will miss at least a couple of games after suffering a left ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 112-104 home loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Warriors announced Monday that Curry, 36, suffered a peroneal strain – which involves tendons around the ankle – though an MRI came back showing no structural damage.

Curry, the four-time NBA champion and two-time MVP, has been a major focal point of the Golden State run this season with 18.3 points, 6.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per contest. He will miss the upcoming home games against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday and Wednesday before being re-evaluated on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Warriors also announced that guard De’Anthony Melton, who exited Sunday’s game with a lower back strain, underwent an MRI that came back showing no structural damage. Melton, who averages 6.3 points and 2.7 assists, will also be re-evaluated on Friday. This is a tough beginning to the year for Melton, who dealt with back problems while with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Without Curry, the 2-1 Warriors will try to keep the momentum going against New Orleans twice at home this week.
