Senator Kashim Shettima, the Vice President-elect had on Saturday, May 27, addressed the rumour surrounding him and the President-elect, Bola Tinubu having an agenda to Islamise Nigeria.
Recall that the Islamization apprehension had begun among Nigerians shortky after Tinubu revealed Shettima to be his running mate in 2022 as both individuals were Muslims and a Muslim-Muslim leadership had never occurred in the country before.
But speaking at a lecture held in Abuja as part of the events to hold before Tinybu’s inauguration on May 29, Shettima had calmed the people’s trepidation, stating that there was no agenda or plan to Islamize the country as his principal, Bola Tinubu was currently married to a Christian.
He described his principal as a Muslim who is married to a Christian and pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
The incoming vice-president had also gone further to point out that he had deliberately selected an Igbo man of Catholic faith to be his Chief Security Officer- CSO for inclusivity.
