It was a dent in the confidence of Arsenal fans, as their position as strong title contenders is uncertain after their match with West Ham ended in a 2-2 draw at London Stadium on Sunday.

Gabriel Jesus scored the first goal while Martin Odegard made it 2-0 in the tenth minute, however, Jarod Bowen leveled Arsenal’s lead to 2-1 after springing for West Ham in the 33rd minute, Said Benrahma equalized for West Ham as he scored the second goal in the 52nd minute.

Speaking about their performance, Mikel Arteta, rated their performance as” disappointing”. According to him, they started the game well, as they had possession of the ball and then they lost focus.

He further said that the opposite side capitalizing on their flaw was able to score two goals, and they could not gather enough confidence to score 3rd and 4th goal

“Very disappointing. The way we started was superb again; we were in total control, then we lost purpose,” he said, per the BBC.

“We gave them hope, conceded a terrible penalty, then credit to them. We got on the roller coaster where everything is going, corners and throw-ins, and we never got away from that.

“The purpose we needed for a third and fourth goal, I didn’t see it.”

Arsenal is still leading the table with 74 points, closely followed by Manchester City with 70 points, Arsenal is to host Southampton next.
