President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to take the battle to BIAFRA agitators, saying they will be treated in the language they understand.
The comment has continued to generate heat among Nigerians on the social medial space, especially Twitter.
Buhari in a post via his verified Twitter account had tweeted:
“Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand.”
He had said this after the INEC chairman Prof. Yakubu and other INEC officials briefed him on the vandalization of INEC offices in southeast Nigeria.
The presidency affirmed that he has reports of the daily insecurity and seeming insurgency going on in that country. In his words:
“I receive daily security reports on the attacks on critical national infrastructure, and it is very clear that those behind them want this administration to fail. Whoever wants the destruction of the system will soon have the shock of their lives. We’ve given them enough time.”
Twitter users expressed their disappointments in the reaction of President Buhari towards civilians, and on Twitter asked the presidency to use the said language on Bokoharam and terrorist groups.

President Buhari assured INEC that there will be a provision for anything needed by the agency to make the election a success.
“In the area of security, we have changed the Service Chiefs and the Inspector-General, and we are demanding that they rise fully to the challenges confronting us. There must be zero tolerance for all those bent on destroying our country by promoting crime and insurrection!”
However, the comment section was locked so Nigerians expressed their dissatisfaction with the presidency by quoting his tweet and adding their comments afterward.

Falz who was one of the celebrities at the front line of the #endsars protest in Lagos states chided the presidency. In his exact words, he tweeted,
“What is this? Have you treated Boko Haram with the “language they understand”? What about the kidnappers & bandits ? Today you go to London, tomorrow Paris. You are now coming here to tweet rubbish”.
Many Nigerians asked the President to abort the idea of initiating another genocide in the southeast and treat the case of Biafra better than the case of the bandits. They also quoted president Buhari’s appeal to bandits and asked that he appeal to the southeast who feel threatened in their fatherland and stop adding salt to the injury with threats.
As expected, supporters of President Buhari countered the likes of Falz, and asked that Mr. President acts as he deems fit for the security of Nigeria and for the promotion of a united Nigeria.
