Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has publicly responded to allegations linking him to the ongoing online clash between social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) and content creator King Mitchy, firmly dismissing the claims as false and misleading.
The online dispute escalated after King Mitchy shared news of a school renovation project she completed within six days, sparking widespread reactions. While many applauded the effort, her comments were interpreted by some as indirect criticism of VDM, who later accused her of acting as a political tool to promote the image of the current administration.
In subsequent videos, VDM mentioned Seyi Tinubu, alleging that both he and King Mitchy had threatened his life, a claim that triggered intense online debates.

Reacting via his Instagram story, Seyi Tinubu clarified that his interaction with Mitchy was limited to a single public meeting centred on charity.
“I met Mitchy once, in a public setting, alongside others. On that occasion, I provided financial support toward her NGO activities, just as I have supported many young Nigerians and organisations working to empower our people,” he said.
He further explained that a follow-up meeting was planned to review the impact of the donation never held due to health challenges.
“A follow-up meeting had been scheduled for me to receive an update on the impact of her NGO’s work following the donation. That meeting did not take place because I have been unwell,” he added.
Dismissing claims of any hidden dealings, Seyi stated, “There has never been a private encounter, no secret arrangement, and no impropriety of any kind.”
He also accused VDM of deliberately inserting his name into a dispute he had no part in, describing the allegations as a calculated attempt to tarnish his reputation.
“What is deeply concerning is that a feud I did not start, and in which I have played no part, has been used as a vehicle to insert my name into a narrative without basis in truth,” he said.
“For reasons best known to him, VDM appears to have been looking for a trigger, an opportunity to attack and attempt to harm my reputation and seized upon this situation to do so. I will not accept that.”
Seyi Tinubu stressed that he would not be intimidated by what he described as fictional narratives.
“I will not be bullied, and I will not dignify fiction with panic. I have experienced bullying before, and I understand the harm it can cause. That is why I take a firm stance against it,” he said.
He concluded by urging restraint and responsible public discourse, reiterating his commitment to youth empowerment and humanitarian causes.
“To those seeking to manufacture controversy: Nigeria needs builders, not bullies. We need responsible discourse, not sensationalism driven by speculation,” he added.
