Despite ongoing litigation, preparations for President Donald Trump’s upcoming UFC fight night on the White House South Lawn are winding down, with reports that the President’s team has invested over $60 million in converting the iconic structure into an octagon arena.

The event, which is part of the celebrations marking the country’s 250th birthday, will host 7 fights on Sunday night and will be broadcast live on the President’s personal broadcast network, which he recently established.

Based on documents filed by the National Park Service in a court lawsuit to block the event, hundreds of workers and over seven federal agencies are involved, including Homeland Security, the Federal Aviation Administration, and 5 other federal organizations, to produce this unique sporting event, which included 71,000,000 pounds of equipment shipped and a temporary arena constructed on the premises to hold 4,000 spectators. An additional 120,000 viewers have earned tickets by winning the online lottery to watch the fights from the neighboring Ellipse.

Events for the weekend start with a ceremonial weigh-in and concert performed by country singer Zac Brown Band and continue with various fan-related festivities, including autograph signing by athletes included, during the 2-day celebration leading up to President Trump’s leaving for the G7 summit in France.

Regardless of the litigation, the show is anticipated to take place this weekend as the organizers say that they are sure that nothing can stop the event from proceeding on schedule.
