Wolves chairman, Jeff Shi has disclosed the reason why Bruno Lage was sacked as manager of Wolves.

Lage who replaced Nuno Espirit Santo last summer, could not take the club higher as Wolves finished tenth last season. And they’ve only one match out of their last 15 premier league games.

According to Shi, there’s no doubt that Lage is a brilliant manager, who shows hard work and dedication to his craft, he made the working environment very friendly, so it wasn’t easy enforcing the decision to sack him.

He further said that he is very positive that Bruno will perform well elsewhere, but they had to take such a decision considering the team’s performance and poor form, which is an indication that they need a capable hand.

“Bruno is an excellent coach, a hardworking and dedicated manager, and a warm, wise and honest man,” said Shi.

“He and his staff have been a pleasure to work with throughout their time at Wolves, so it is with much sadness that we have had to make what has been a difficult decision.

“I honestly have no doubts about Bruno’s ability and I’m sure he will succeed elsewhere, however the team’s form and performances over the last few months mean that we have no choice but to act.”

This decision was made after their humiliating 2-0 defeat at the London stadium. So far this season, Wolves are currently 18th on the EPL table with just six points after eight games considering the amount they’ve spent in purchasing new players, this is definitely not good. Only an exceptional manager can take them higher

Bruno Miguel Silva is a Portuguese professional soccer manager, who recently managed the premier league club, Wolverhampton wanderers.
